Duty Application
Light Pumps-centrifugal, Hydraulic pumps (with out priming), Irrigation pumps, Cereal dryers, Elevators-bucket, Machines general-all types with uniform loads and non reversing, Bow thruster, Generators
Medium Agitators-solid or semi solids, Blowers & fans centrifugal, screw, Elevators-bucket or non-uniformly loaded or fed, Mixers-continuous, Pumps-two or more cylinders, Conveyors-uniformly loaded, Dredge pumps 
Heavy Cranes & Hoists working clutch, Compressors-lobe rotary plus three or more cylinder reciprocal type    Drums, braking, Machines-impact lode types, Mills-ball type, Mud pumps
Extra Heavy Crushers-ore and stone, Chipper-wood, Mills-hammer type, Shaker - reciprocating type

 

Maximum Torque Capacity
The torque capacities shown are the maximum clutch capacities, and include saftey factors dependant upon the type of application.

Torque calculation: Use the formula Torque (Nm) = 9549 x Kw / rpm and the appropriate saftey factor to determine
the correct clutch size for any application. Clutch Torque Capacity = Gross Torque Capacity / Saftey Factor
Clutch size requirements should be based on peak torque capability of the engine.

Determine using the formula                           L =         1,954,000 x kW     x F

Where:
L = Effective Side Load (Kg)
N = Shaft Speed (RPM)
D = Pitch Diameter of pulley, chain on gear (mm)

F = Load Factor  

       1.0 for single chain or gear drive
       1.5 for timing belts
       2.5 for all V belts
       3.0 for flat belts
       2.1 for severe shock drives
       1.8 for large inertia type drives
Note: A support plate for 2 and 3 plate 14" is required in side load applications.
